Region

Hlučínsko as the specific part of moravian Silesia was formed in the early 20′s of the 20 th century. It used to be a part of German region Ratiboř with the majority of German speaking inhabitants. Since 1920 it became a part of the new created state Czechoslovakia. An area of 316 km 2 with the biggest town Hlučín, has had kind of different economic and social development since 1742, when it became a part of the Prussian state. Of course, it had some impact on the destiny, culture and thinking of local people.

 

Hlučínsko is a beautiful part of the Czech Republic with a spectacular countryside bounded with Beskydy on the east and with Jesenik on the west side. 

Hlučinsko is not just full of landscape beauties, but also full of historic landmarks, hospitality and friendly welcoming. 

Hlučinsko is also presented as an "Odpust' region. Odpust is always a day, when a local church was dedicated. You can spend a weekend here with really great gastronomic and cultural experiences. The local people try to keep up their habits. 

The natural wonders are for example: natural landmark Odkryv in Kravaře, natural reservation Koutské and Zábřežské meadows, Dařanec by Vřesina, grove in Hněvošice, Black forest by Šilheřovice, natural beauty Hranečník by Píšť, Struhal′s oak tree in Bohuslavice, chateau′s parks and memorable trees. Another good choice is a hike to one of beautiful hills all around Hlučínsko.

You can witness the art and life of our aristocracy in some of the interesting chateau′s expositions in Hlučín, Kravaře, Šilheřovice, Dolní Benešov, Velké hoštice, Chuchelná and Oldřišov. The old forester′s lodge in Bělá, the open-air museum of the folk habits. Also the military areal in Hlučín - Darkovičky is exquisite. 

We can not forget some of the wonderful religious buildings like the church of St. Bartholomew in Kravaře, unlike this kind of old building there is modern one a chapel in Služovice. Wooden church of st. Peter and Paul in Hněvošice is also historical landmark as well as a chapel in Darkovice and a church in Hať.

Throughout Hlučínsko there is a huge number of cykloroutes. 

A huge attraction is a brand new aqua park in Kravaře, open air pool in Bolatice, Píšť and by Hlučín lake, where you can get involved with water sports, Kravaře and Šilheřovice also offer a great conditions for golf players. It is also worth to mention the big sport areal in Kravaře, called Buly arena; this is one of the biggest sport centers in our country.
